Is my barber pushing back my hairline?

Where is your hairline supposed to be?

It is possible for your barber to push back your hairline and they may not even realize it because they're so focused on creating a clean haircut. Or, you might even be pushing back your own hairline by trying to do your own lineups at home. So, it's your responsibility to look in the mirror and try and see if your hairline is where it is supposed to be.

*A line up is meant to clean up your natural hairline by removing stray hairs that may be causing your hairline to NOT to look as sharp, neat and clean.

*You know that your hair is being cut too far past your natural hairline when it starts growing back and there is a lot of hair that would have to be removed to make that line clean again.

*A lot of hair should not be cut off in the first place. In other words, when your hairline starts growing back in...it shouldn't look too far from when it was initially cut.

This line up is perfect. In fact, his hair looks fuller after the haircut, which could be dye, but in either event... his barber made sure that his hairline is not pushed back any further. In fact, it looks like he brought it forward with some dye and a steady hand. Also, there is not an extreme difference between his natural hairline and after his lineup other than the fact that it looks neater, thicker and fuller. This indicates that his hairline is cut where it is supposed to be. This makes him look younger and his hair looks healthier and cleaner.

This is a nice haircut but it is clear that his hairline is pushed back. If you look closely, his forehead looks larger because the line is pushed just a bit too far. Especially on the side, the barber created a very harsh line in the shape of a "C". It doesn't look natural for this man. Some people purposely go for this look but overtime, his hairline will recede if he continues it get it cut like this.
Overall, the barer did a good job, and he does have a steady hand but he could cause his client's hairline to recede.

What do I do to reverse this?

Simple. Let your hairline grow in a little bit more than usual, then next time you go to get your haircut, just say "I'm trying to grow my hairline back in, could you try to follow my natural hairline?"

Your barber will understand. It's nothing personal. Just a small, extra step to save yourself from a receding hairline sooner than expected.

L'Oreal Extraordianry Hair Oil System

My most recent Vox Box from https://www.influenster.com/ is this L'Oreal daily care hair oil system.

What do I not like about it?
*     The shampoo runs out of the spout fairly quickly, so you have to be careful not to squeeze it too tight. Other than that, the product itself works great.
What do I love about it?
*      My hair drank the shampoo and conditioner. The oil is very light and it's great for frequent use without weighing down your hair. It contains oils that are very beneficial for your hair.
*       I got the system for dry, limp, lifeless hair. It moisturized it very well. It's a good system for daily use like it says and every if your hair is naturally oily, it will not weigh it down.
*       I've used it on other people's hair too and it worked will in natural hair and relaxed, and chemically treated hair.
Would I buy it?
*        Actually, I probably will, when I run out and I am not try to spend an arm and a leg on shampoo and conditioner.

Is it healthy to have my hair braided tightly?

Most people's hair is the most delicate at the hairline. The hairline is usually the slowest to grow back. You know that your braids are too tight when your scalp develops a lot of tiny bumps and you can see the stress and tension at the root of your hair. This is the scalps defense against your hair being ripped out in large quantities. These are the signs that you scalp is sending you because it can't hold on to the hairs much longer.

-If you look closely at the hairline of these children below, you will see the small bumps that indicate stress and tension.

-The very last picture is hair loss from the stress and tension of tight braids at her hairline.

So, you tell me...is it healthy to have your hair tightly braided?

Personalized Skin Care Regimen

Building a Personalized Skin Care Regimen

-The best way to keep your facial skin happy and healthy is to asses your skin and create a regimen that is specific to your chemistry.
-This is very easy to do and the assessment can be done absolutely FREE OF CHARGE in the comforts of your home.
-Find a mirror and study your skin while you go through these steps step that will help you understand your skin.

Understanding Your Skin
-Drink more water. As cliche as this sounds, "up to 60% of your body is made up of water" as quoted in http://water.usgs.gov/edu/propertyyou.html.
[Read that short article to help you understand that staying hydrated is what keeps your body going and anything unhealthy that is going on in your body (lack of adequate hydration, drinking, smoking, lack of nutrition) will show up outside of your body in different ways.]
-Reduce bacteria transfer. Your skin will always have good and bad bacteria on it. However, it is very important to reduce the amount of bad bacteria that you transfer to your skin, especially your face. How do you do that?
     (a) Avoid touching your face without washing your hands. Your hands harbor harmful bacteria because you touch various bacteria pools all throughout the day. (Bacteria pool= Door knobs, steering wheel, handles, light switches, toilet seat etc,.) You catch my drift.
     (b) Clean/change your bed sheets and pillow cases at least once a week. The easiest way to remember to do this is to designate a day for deep cleaning and have checklist of objets to disinfect and clean. Here are some suggestions: clean/disinfect makeup brushes, clean/disinfect hair tools, disinfect doorknobs, light switches, handles, change sheets.
     (c) Use disposable facial cloths. Try not to use washcloths on your face. Try using disposable facial cloths or cotton pads from your local drug store. They run about $1.00 USD per pack of 50 pads/cloth.
Building the regimen
"what is my skin type?"
-Knowing you skin type is the heart of the skin care regimen. Once you know your skin type there are various skin care systems out there to help treat your skin type.
-What is a skin type? There are 4 main characteristics of skin types. Regardless of skin color, they all apply.

1. Dry Skin

This is a skin CONDITION and should be treated as such. Moisturizing skin products will help conceal the symptoms while you correct the condition from within. Your skin is itchy, scaly, and dehydrated. Probably from a lack of hydration. Drink eight, 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Which, essentially, is 2 liters or half a gallon of water a day. So, an easy way to accomplish this is to fill a clean, empty 2-liter soda bottle with water and drink it gradually all day.  You should notice a difference in your skin, hair, nails and overall health within weeks. Also, Use moisturizing skin care products. Try moisturizing face masks at night.
2. Oily Skin

If you have acne, you most likely have oily skin. This is what is probably causing your acne. However, some acne is hereditary, etc,. If you acne is severe, seek professional medical advice. Oily skin is also a condition and can also be corrected through diet. Try consuming less fatty, oily foods and more water. Search on google for a list of common foods that contain fat and oils. I know a very common one. THOSE FRIED, JUICY BURGERS and FRIES. Yes, fast food will damage your skin. In addition to adjusting your diet, try concealing the symptoms and reducing acne with skin care systems for  oily skin and acne prone skin try alternating days and try using the system at night. Night time is when they body repairs itself. Try clay masks at night.
3. Combination

Combination skin is actually pretty common. It is a mix of oily and dry skin. For some people, a mix of normal skin and dry/oily. Which can be fixed through diet, as well. A balance of both diets for oily and dry skin. The symptoms can most effectively be treated through alternating face masks, at night. Also, whatever the majority of you skin is. Treat it as such. If your skin is 80% oily. Treat it for oily skin. If it is 50% oily treat it for oily skin but use a moisturizer that is not too heavy and absorbs in you skin.
4. Sensitive

If you have sensitive skin, you know you have it because you can't use most products without suffering from irritation. Seek professional, medical advice and rule out you allergens.  You must use botanical/natural products if you have sensitive skin. and check all products for your allergens. You MUST wear sunscreen daily. Try finding a moisturizer with SPF. UV rays can worsen the condition.

*Disclaimer: Everyone is unique. Before we move forward in these steps, it is important to rule out any skin conditions that you may need to seek professional, medical advice for. I am not a doctor. If you have severe skin conditions that are causing you extreme pain, discomfort, or discoloration it is very important that you consult a doctor. The solutions that I am offering in this article are only suggestions that may or may not work for you. However, I have found that a lot of these solutions have been very helpful for many people and are worth a try for people who want to improve mild skin conditions.
